Acupuncture and skin care in one quiet room

Magnolia is a small clinic near Tucson. A licensed acupuncturist and a licensed esthetician share one treatment room, so you can book a gua sha facial, an acupuncture visit or both on the same afternoon.

Tools we use

Cleaned between clients and put away dry.

  • Gua sha stones

Smooth jade and rose quartz stones in a few shapes, for the face, neck and shoulders.

  • Facial rollers

Cool stone rollers for the face and neck, wiped and stored dry after each visit.

  • Single-use needles

Sterile, hair-thin needles, opened in front of you, used once and discarded.

  • Warm towels

Rolled hot towels that open and close every facial.

  • Brushes and bowls

Soft brushes and ceramic bowls, with masks mixed fresh for each client.

  • Magnifying lamp

A lamp for a close look at your skin, so we can choose the right mask together.

Every fee depends on the service and how long it takes. We share it with you before the visit.

Skin and wellness

One room, booked together or apart

Many clients book a facial with Astrid and an acupuncture visit with Pushpa on the same afternoon.

We schedule the two back to back in the same quiet room, so you arrive once, unwind and go home. Prefer one or the other? Book just that. Each visit starts with a conversation, and nothing begins until you have said yes.

  • A conversation first, every visit

  • We explain each step before it starts

  • Facials and acupuncture booked together or apart

  • A written fee estimate before you book

Questions

What people ask before they book

Does acupuncture hurt?

Most people feel a light tap or a brief pinch where a needle goes in, then a dull ache, warmth or nothing much at all, and many feel relaxed. If anything is uncomfortable, tell Pushpa and she will adjust or remove the needle.

Are the needles clean?

Yes. Needles are sterile, hair-thin and single-use. Pushpa opens each one in front of you and discards it in a sharps container after the visit.

Do you put needles in my face?

Only if you choose facial acupuncture, which is its own visit with Pushpa and uses very fine needles at points on the face, neck, hands and body. A gua sha facial, a custom facial and facial massage use no needles at all.

What is gua sha, and does it hurt?

Gua sha is a massage with a smooth stone. In a facial, Astrid uses warm oil and light, slow strokes. You should feel gentle pressure, and you can ask for lighter or slower at any time.

What does this not do, and when should I see a doctor?

Acupuncture and facials do not replace your doctor's care, and we make no promise about results. See a doctor first for chest pain, trouble breathing, sudden weakness or numbness, a spreading rash or skin that is hot, swollen or painful. In an emergency, call 911.

Will I have to stop my medicine?

No. Tell your prescriber and Pushpa about everything you take, including anything over the counter and anything you use on your skin. We never ask you to change a medicine.
