How fees work

  • Insurance we work with

We are out of network, so we don't bill health plans directly. Some plans reimburse acupuncture when you send in a receipt, and others don't cover facials or other skin care at all. Your plan decides, so ask your plan.

  • If you pay yourself

Visits are paid at the time of service. The fee depends on the service and how long it takes, and we agree on it with you before the visit starts. The front desk can tell you by phone or email. HSA and FSA cards can often be used: ask your plan administrator.

  • Receipts for reimbursement

After every visit we give you an itemized receipt, called a superbill, which your plan may reimburse in part for acupuncture, and your plan decides. Facials and other skin care are not covered by health plans.

  • An estimate in advance

If you pay without insurance, you have a right to a good faith estimate before your visit. We give you a written estimate in advance when you ask for it, and when you book. If a bill comes in $400 or more above that estimate, you can dispute it.

  • Checking your benefits

Because we are out of network, we can't check your benefits for you. Call your plan before your first visit and ask whether it reimburses acupuncture, what it needs on a receipt and how much you can claim.

  • What the first visit includes

A first visit takes about 75 minutes: a conversation, a treatment and a plan for what comes next. For a facial, a first visit takes about an hour. We share the fee in advance, as above.
