Care, with Pushpa

Acupuncture

Acupuncture uses fine, single-use needles at points on the arms, legs, back and ears, chosen after Pushpa has listened to you. She explains the points before any needle goes in.

Many clients book it beside a facial for a quiet afternoon. Ear seeds, tiny seeds taped to the ear and pressed by hand, are an option if you would rather skip needles.

Who usually books it: adults who like to care for skin and wellness together, people who carry tension in the shoulders, jaw and neck, and people who want an unhurried hour.

A visit, in order

What a visit is like

  1. 01

    Step 1: A conversation

Pushpa asks about your week, your sleep, your medicines and what you would like from the hour. About fifteen minutes on a first visit.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Getting comfortable

You lie on the table with a blanket and a pillow where you want one. You choose how much to remove, and you are always draped.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Needles and rest

A small number of hair-thin needles, left in place for about twenty minutes while you rest. Pushpa checks in and counts them out.

  4. 04

    Step 4: A few notes

Water, a slow sit-up and a note on what to expect over the next day. The visit takes about an hour.

What you may feel afterward

Afterward you may feel relaxed or sleepy, a little sore at a point or lightly bruised where a needle was. These usually settle within a day or two.

Before you book

Tell us first

Tell us about any of these when you book or at the start of your visit. We will explain what we change.

  • Pregnancy

Some points are avoided. Tell us when you book.

  • Blood thinners

Or a bleeding disorder. Pushpa will use fewer needles and lighter technique.

  • A pacemaker

Or another implant. We avoid electrical stimulation.

  • Lymph nodes removed

We avoid needles on that arm or side.

  • Needle fear

Tell us. We can go slowly, start with ear seeds or stop at any point.

  • Fainting

If you have fainted at needles or blood draws, we will have you lie down for the whole visit.

How many visits, and what this does not do

Pushpa suggests a plan after the first visit and looks at it again as you go. It depends on what you hope for and how you respond, and you can stop whenever you like.

What it does not do

Acupuncture does not replace your doctor's care, and we do not prescribe medicine or ask you to change yours. We make no promise about results: people respond differently.

When to see a doctor instead

See a doctor or urgent care first for chest pain, trouble breathing, sudden weakness or numbness, a sudden severe headache, or a fever with a stiff neck. In an emergency, call 911.
